Netherlinn or Nether Linn - A farmhouse the property of Sir James Menteith, occupied by Mr Brown, factor of Mansefield
Mansefield Linn - A waterfall about 40ft high, 9 chains south west of Upper Linn and 19 chains north of Nether Linn.
Linn is the Scots word for a waterfall, cataract or cascade of water.

Nether Linn - The ruins stand in the Linn Field on the opposite side of Mansefield Road from the ruins of Mansefield House; the property was also known as Low Linn or just Linn.
The 1841 census for Linn shows Gavin Campbell a 60yr old agricultural labourer living there with James Campbell 20, Susanna Campbell 20, Janet Campbell 15 and Rachael McCanless 20.
The 1851 census for Lime shows Gavin Campbell farmer 71 with his daughters Janet 27 and Elizabeth 23.
The 1861 census shows William Gibson 65, a land steward, occupying Linn along with his wife Isabella 70.
The 1871 census for The Linn shows William Gibson 76 labourer still living there with his wife Isabella 80 and son Andrew Gibson a 34yr old labourer.
The 1881 census for The Linn shows son Andrew Gibson a 44yr old Land Steward living there. He employs a 57yr old housekeeper Nickolas Thomson.
The 1891 census shows Low Linn now occupied by Anthony Milligan a 51yr old coachman, his wife Jane 45, son Hugh 17 who is a groom, daughter Mary 10 and daughter Jane age 9.
The 1901 census shows Lynn still being occupied by coachman Anthony Milligan 60, his wife Jane (Gemmell) 55 and their daughter Mary 20.;
