Margaret and her sister Janet Caldwell came from Rottenyard.
1881 census shows Margaret Caldwell 33, unmarried with a three year old son George farming 210 acres arable employing 3 men and 1 girl. Her sister Janet 18 is assistant farm manager, Janet Raw 15, James Dowie 18, and James Ronald 20 are general farm servants.

Little up date on this story, James (Kennedy) Sharp was born at Burnside Farm in 1855 then in 1881 was at Lanehead Farm later on started winchin Margaret Caldwell and they got married at Rottenyard in 1886 and lived at South Boig Farm, think James died 1942.
1891 census shows James Sharp 35 a farm grieve and his wife Margaret 42 (this is Margaret Caldwell), son George Caldwell 13, 1 male farm servant James Farquhar 16 and 1 female farm servant Barbara McMurdo 15.
1901 census shows James (Kennedy) Sharp 45 farming with his wife Margaret 53, son George Caldwell, Mary Caldwell his 70 yr old mother-in-law, 2 female domestic servants Christina Clark 19 and Helen Houston13 and 2 male Hugh Gilmour 41 Tobie O'Neill 14
