Longlands or Langlands provided accommodation for estate workers David Aird, John Black, Hugh Hair and William Lennox in 1781 and for Aird, Black and Hair in 1782 and 1786. The lands were let for grazing to James Wilson in Laigh Clews in 1783. Ploughed and cropped in 1785, Longlands was let with a part of Woodnook to James Gibson, later in Loganston in 1786 and 1787. Longlands East Park was let to John Stirling in Stevenston and William Hunter in Barlosh in 1786. It was let for grazing to John McGregor in 1790 and 1793 and to Andrew Stirling in 1794 and 1796.

Craighead, later renamed East Langlands, included half of Longlands in 1727. It was rented to William and James Jamieson, wrights, in 1777 and to William Jamieson in 1783 and 1796.

The 1851 census for Lawlanglands (Low Langlands?) shows Jane Gebbie a 40yr old widow annuitant living there with her children Sarah 9, Grace 7, Robert 1 and 1 female house servant. They have 2 visitors.
The 1861 census for High Langlands shows Jane Gebbie 50yr old widow living there with her daughters Sarah a 19yr old dressmaker, Grace 17 and son Robert 12.
In 1871 Jane now 60 is living at West Langlands. She is described as the widow of a Land Steward. 27yr old daughter Grace is described as unmarried but there is also a son-in-law Robert Morton a 31yr old mason foreman recorded.
The 1881 census for West Langlands shows widow Jane Gebbie age 70 farming 2 acres.
The 1891 census for Langland shows William Jamieson a 37yr old agricultural labourer living there with his wife Mary 38 and their children Alexander 11, William 9, John 5 and Mary 7.
The 1901 census for Langland shows William Jamieson 47 estate labourer still living there with wife Mary G and their son John 15 a garden labourer.
The 1871 census for East Langlands shows Elizabeth Sives 51 a butler’s wife living there.
The 1881 census for East Langlands shows Edward Codling butler living there with his wife and family.
