1851 George Campbell 72, (blind) landed proprietor and farmer of 200 acres employing 2 labourers. Family are wife Janet 42, daughters Jane 12 (meak of intellect, dumb), Janet 9, Angntina 4, and sons Ivie 17 (born Kirkcudbrightshire),and George 15. Servants are Elizabeth Houstin 23, Margaret Frew 17, William Clingan 20, Archibald Montgomery 14, and visitor Antony McClymont 30, writer (not practising at present)

1861 James Sloss 43, farmer of 212 acres with wife Janet 42.Sons Robert 18, William 13, James 1, and daughters Elizabeth 15, Janet 9, Jane 6, and Sarah 4, and dairymaid Agnes McRobert 16.

1871 William Smith 56 (born Auchinleck) with wife Margaret 52 farming 200 acres arable. Family are Andrew 22, Robert 20, Mary 17, Jane 15, and servant Elizabeth Pollock 18.

1881 James Sharp 61 farming 380 acres 300 arable employing 2 men and 4 girls.  Daughter Helen 31 is housekeeper, son Hugh 27 is the ploughman, son James 25 is general servant, daughter Jane 23 is the domestic and daughter Agnes 21 is a general servant.  A granddaughter is also on the farm, Mary Sharp 9. - There are some pictures of the Sharp family following the link on James' name.

1901 James Laurie 33 with wife Elizabeth 34 and daughters Margaret 5, Mary 4, and Helen under 1, and son John 1. Servant is Robina Montgomery14. - There may be a link here with the Sharp family who lived here in 1881. James Sharp's son Hugh, a ploughman married a Laurie (sister of James Laurie) and I believe Alexander Laurie married the Mary Sharp grand daughter of James Sharp and they emigrated to Canada in 1891.
