1871 John 53 is proprietor and farmer of 500 acres, 400 arable. Agnes is 43 and born in Sorn. Children are Jane 13, Thomas 11, and George Pagan 9. They have a visitor Nicholas Ward 58 a retired railway contractor and servants are Isabella Forsyth 22, Elizabeth Toward 21, James Roadman 57, gardener and William Shankland 18, farm servant.
1881 and at Bank House William Hyslop 25 a Coal Master is head of the household. His mother Agnes 54 is a widow. Sister Jane 23 and aunt Martha Hyslop 64 are also at Bank House. Servants are Elizabeth Hyslop 20, Janet Park 14, and James Rodman 66.
1891 and William has married Maggie (Margaret Gibson) 34. Servants are Mary McDonald 22, cook domestic, Joan Clark 17, and John Kirk 34. Agnes 64 and her sister in law Martha Hyslop 75 had moved to Auchingee Cottage, New Cumnock with Bessie Gray 15 servant.Martha was John Hyslop's only sister, and died at Auchingee Cottage in 1899.
