South Palmerston, Ochiltree

appears in Blaeu Atlas of 1654 as Pamerstoun

North and South Palmerston are divided by Palmerston Plantation to the east of Palmerston Mount in Ochiltree.

The Horse Tax Rolls for 1797/98 only have an entry for Palmerston - James Duncan, 2 horses
The Land Tax Rolls 1645 to 1831 list Alexander Don Esq. Palmerston and Barebelly

1851 William Robb 69 Farmer Of 90 Acres Employing Two Labourers also wife Sarah 59, son John 26, and servants Alexander Thom 14, and Jane Kirk 15
1861 David Robb and Wife Agnes (Kay) 27 have taken over after the death of William.  With them in the house are John 36 (David's brother), and widowed mother Sarah 70.  William Robb 12, a nephew, and servant Charlotte Donald 25 complete the household.
1871 David Robb 40 and wife Agnes 37 are farming 112 acres 108 arable employing 2 labourers. 
They have four sons William 9, John 7, James 5, and David 2.  Servants are Robert Dorrans 20 and Jane Meikle 16. (the transcription says North Palmerston)
1881 David and Agnes are farming 100 acres arable employing 2 men and 1 girl.  They have another son, Daniel 8.  Jane Crawford 19 is their general domestic.
1891 David and wife Agnes, and sons John 27, David 22, Daniel 18, and servant Isabella Lyons 14.
1901 David 70, Agnes 67, and sons John 37 and David 32, with servants William C Johnston 25, and Ann Jane Murray 15.
