1855-7 OS name books Cornerhall A Small Cottage occupied by one of the Laborers of Nether Guelt.
1881 census shows John Craig 61 and wife Ruth 62 farming 90 acres 450 arable employing 3 men, 2 girls and 1 boy. Also sons Thomas 28, Daniel 19, and daughters Ruth 34, and Jane 32. They have a dairymaid Catharine Anderson 33, general servant Annie Hamilton 21 and Hugh Love 14 farm servant. Also Peter Russel 55 a vagrant tinsmith in the census.

Guelt or Gelt does not appear on the Valuation Roll, (but Nether Guelt does).
The 1891 census shows
In 1895 John Montgomerie , previously in Laigh Tarbeg, Ochiltree is tenant of Nether Guelt. His son James Montgomerie married Maggie Murray from the Muir, Cumnock in 1901 and they moved to Kirkbride, Crosshill, Maybole.
