Knocknaib, Old Cumnock

1807 birth of Agnes lawful daughter of James Smith farmer in Knocknaib and Mary Duncan spouses was born in Monday the eighteenth day of May at forty five minutes past eight o clock in the morning and baptised on the Sabbath the twenty-fourth day of said month in the year of 1807

 John Tannock is there by 1861 census.  He died at Knocknaib on 5 January 1886. Their sons John and William carried on as farmers there. Son John married Mary Alexander of Dykes farm  in 1897. Tannock family there until 2016 over 255 years!

Conf of John Tannock, farmer, Knocknaib Parish of Cumnock who died 5/1/1886 at Knocknaib aforesaid testate granted at Ayr to John Tannock and William Tannock farmers Knocknaib aforesaid his sons executors dative qua next-of-kin.
