1841 James Sloan 36 farmer, with Jane 30, Mina 1, John 20, and servants Hugh Hair 15, Elizabeth Dixon 25 and Agness Gibson 10.
1851 James is 49 and Jane 40, farming 60 acres and employing 2 labourers. Mina is 10, Cuningham 8, a little girl, Jane 5, and Mary 2.  John Sloan 32 brother, and Mina Dickie 16, house servant 
1861
1871 and the farm is now 75 acres arable. James is 69 and Jane 60, and at home are Mina 30, Jane 25 and Mary 22. they employ a labourer but he didn't live on the farm.
The 1881 census shows James Sloan 79, and his wife Jane 70 farming 75 acres arable and employing 1 man and 1 girl.
Their two daughters Mina 40 and Jane 35 are also living with them along with a domestic servant.
1891 and Mina 50 has taken over the farm with her sister Jane 45.  They have John Kerr 32, George Wilson 15, and Jane S Thom 15 as farm and general servants.
In 1901 Mina 60, is joint farmer with John Kerr 43 her brother in law and sister Jane Kerr 54.  They have William Limont 17 and Sarah Hamilton 16 as farm and domestic servants.
