The 1851 census shows James McKerrow 44 farmer of 70 acres emp 2 labourers. Also living there are his sister Jean M Fraser 42 working as housekeeper, brother-in-law William Fraser 44 who is a railway labourer, Cochrane Hillhouse 16 his nephew who is an apprentice joiner, 1 male farm labourer, 1 female house servant, 1 male shepherd and a railway labourer who is lodging with them.
The 1861 census shows James McKerrow 60 farming 80 acres and employing 1 man, 1 boy and 1 woman. Living there is his sister Jane 57 who is housekeeper, brother-in-law William Fraser 50 brother-in-law who is a railway contractor, 1 ploughman, 1 dairymaid and 1 boy servant.
Cannot find the 1871 census
James McKerrow died in 1874.
The 1881 census shows William Fraser, a widower, James's brother-in-law, now farming 80 acres all arable emp 1 man, 3 girls and 1 boy. Also living there is housekeeper Eliza Ross, 2 female general domestics and James Ross 10.
The 1891 census shows William Fraser 70 farming Dickston Farm. Elizabeth Ross 46 is still his housekeeper. Also living there is James Ross 20 a farm servant and 1 other male farm servant.
The 1901 census shows Dixton Farm now being farmed by James Pearson 36 and his wife Margaret 37, 1 female general servant and 2 male farm labourers.
