Creochhill, Ochiltree

Location  originally in the parish of Ochiltree. Transferred to parish of Stair in 1889 (Hay & Shennan https://scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/hay_shennan/pdfs/ayrshire-boundaries.pdf)

1881 George Sloan 63 and a widower - farmer of 200 acres  emp 2 men 1 woman. 
Plus sons John 30 & George 21, daughter Margaret 26 and Elizabeth Peters 19, general domestic.


Fatal accident 1882
Janet Sloan 26 and her father George Sloan 65 both lost their lives in a farm accident.

+ sister Maggie 36 housekeeper, brother Hugh 24  farmer, plus servants Janet Caldwell 18 and John Flinn 13.
Now the farm is situated in the parish of Stair after boundary changes
1901 John Sloan 50, farmer , has married Janet 30, from Tarbolton and they have two children George 2, and Sarah under 1.  Hugh would be in Bardarroch farming with his wife Fanny Hood.  Servants are William Bowman 22, Martha O'Hara 18 and Mary Gibson 14.
