Darmalloch farm as we know it today has had an interesting evolution.  In the first map below you can see two distinct farm steadings of Upper Darmolloch and Darmolloch.  The advert for the sale of farms  show that Robert Swan was in possession of the lands of Over (presumably Upper) and Nether Darmolloch in 1802.
                                                      From the Caledonian Mercury

The census of 1841 shows Robert Swan in Low Darmulloch, with two agricultural workers in the stable, and John Paton residing at High Darmulloch
Allowing the Roy map to be laid on top of the present day google maps as a transparancy, you can see that there is a collection of new buildings between Darmalloch and Upper Darmalloch, which might indicate that Roy's map is incorrect, or that a new farm house has been added.

The 1851 census now refers to New Darmalloch where William Latta is farming 200 acres, Little Darmalloch where Janet Morrison is a Bower, and Old Darmalloch where William Sommerville is running a smithy.
