Heiteth - acquired in 1730, was let to James Wilson in Laigh Clews in 1787 and 1790, though its house was then perhaps occupied by Alexander Lambie. It was let to Andrew Dalrymple, formerly in Dalsalloch West and Back Rogerton, in 1791.

Meikle Heateth, Sorn - A dwelling house with offices, garden and plantation adjoining the property of the Marquis of Bute. Now occupied by John Boswell.

The 1861 Census for Meikle Heateth, Sorn shows John Boswell 58 farming 120 acres assisted by his wife Helen 58 (Dunsmore), son William 23, son James 19, daughter Ann 16, 1 dairymaid and 1 male agricultural labourer.
N.B.  John previously farmed Roundshaw, Sorn.
          John died 7/3/1866

The 1871 census shows John Boswell 40 and unmarried farming 290 acres assisted by his unmarried brothers William 33 and James 30 who are farm servants and 2 female farm servants.

The 1881 census shows John Boswell now 50 and still unmarried farming 232 acres assisted by his brother William 41 who is a ploughman, 1 dairymaid and 1 female farm servant. 

The 1891 census shows Meikle Heateth, Sorn now being farmed by John Boswell 60, brother Robert Boswell 58 and brother William Boswell 53 all farmers in joint tenancy and all unmarried. They have 1 female domestic servant.

The 1901 census for Heateth, Sorn shows the 3 brothers still unmarried and as joint tenant farmers. They are assisted by their niece Ellen D Boswell 20 their niece. (previously Hillend of Heateth,  father James Boswell)
