In the 1803 Land Tax Roll Quintin McAdam, Craigengillan, is recorded as the Proprietor of Lochmeharb, Lanemark & Two Beochs in The Parish of New Cumnock
Scotlands Places of 1855/57 describes it as a small farmhouse with a sheep farm attached occupied by Robert Campbell and owned by Colonel Cathcart.
In the Register of Sheepmarks by Hugh Bone of 1923, Lochmaharb is occupied by William Fallas, and the post town is Carsphairn.

In 1871, Walter Campbell 82 is living at Dalleagles Hill, New Cumnock, retired with his nephew-in-law Andrew Lambie, shepherd. His wife, Agnes 49, must be Walter's neice.
