Both Waterside and Muirfoot are now gone. There are new houses built on the site of Muirfoot, and Waterside is a ruin.

Census
There are two households at Waterside Farm from 1851.
1841 David and Elizabeth Matthieston both 65 with John 30, James 25, Isabella 25, Elizabeth 20 and Christian 15. Also Elizabeth Martin 10
1851 David Mathieson 79 farmer of 81 acres with wife Elisabeth 74 and daughters Isabella 36 and Christina 20 with servant Margaret Milligan 15.
Also at Waterside is John Paterson 31, a ploughman with wife Sarah 32, and two daughters Elisabeth 2 and Marion 1.
1861 David Mathieson 87 is a bower of cows. He is a widower, and daughters Isabella 44 and Christina 38 are with him. They have Jane Tennant 17, servant.
Also the Black family, William 48, ploughman and Isabella his wife 53, and son James 12.
1871 Christina 46, has taken over as the bower and is living alone.
William and Isabella are still at Waterside, farm servants.
1881 Adam Gamble 52, dairyman, and wife Margaret C 50 with step-daughter Marian Brakenridge 22, daughter Jean 14, step-son Hugh Brakenridge 12, grand daughter Margaret 1 and mother Elizabeth Gamble 84.
Also Samuel McCurdie 27, ploughman and wife Jane 28 with children Elizabeth 6, Mary 1 and Samuel under 1.
1891 Edward (?) Gamble 62 and wife Margaret 60, with family Alexander Breckonridge 26, Margaret Breckonridge 26, Johan (?) 24, and Margaret Craig12, grand daughter and Hugh Breckonridge 22.
1901 Margaret Gamble 70 is a widow farming with son Hugh Brickenridge 32, and servants Elizabeth Carls 16, byre woman, and Jane Wood 13, domestic.
Also William Melvin 43, a drainer and family James 19, Hugh 18, William 11, Jessie 10, Maggie 8, Nelly 6, Alexander 6, and Nelly McCaull 27, domestic servant.
