NB. I checked Scotland's People to confirm deaths and ages of George Myles & wife as there is such an age difference. It seems this is correct.
Scotlands Places 1855/57 - Hapland - Rental Sir James Boswell, Mr Boswell factor - A dwelling with offices adjoining the property of Sir James Boswell at present occupied by Mrs Smith.
The 1851 census shows Hapland being occupied by David McCubben 23 an agricultural labourer and his wife Margaret 19 a hand sewer.
The 1861 census shows Hapland now being occupied by James Miller 35 a ploughman, his wife Agnes 35 and their 12yrs old daughter Jean.
On the 1871 census James Miller ploughman and his wife Agnes still live there.
In 1881 James McIntyre 31 a sawer lives in Hapland along with his wife Jane and their 5 children ages 11yrs and under.
By 1891 Robert McLeod 40 a coalminer occupies Hapland along with his wife Margaret and their 6 children ages 11yrs and under.
The 1901 census shows James Chalmers a 25yrs old ploughman, his wife Jessie and their 2 young children living in Hapland.
