George Reid born Broom 3/11/1763 (married Margaret Mitchell Murdoch) and John Reid christened 14/9/1766 in Broom. Parents of both were James Reid and Anne Thomson.

Mary Russall formerly residing in Broom buried 14/5/1830

The 1851 census shows Broom being occupied by Adam Lees an agricultural labourer, his wife Janet and 3 children ages 5yrs and under.

There are 3 different censuses for Broom Cottages for 1861 
Adam Lees is still living there with his wife and 5 children. He is now a gamekeeper.
Robert Fleming a shepherd is living in one of the cottages with his wife Margaret & 3 daughters and David Paterson, a ploughman, is living in another cottage with his wife Flora and 5 children.

There are 2 censuses for Broom for 1871 
Adam Lees the gamekeeper is still there with his wife and family and
David Paterson is still living in another of the cottages with his wife and family

In 1881 Broom Cottages have Adam Lees the gamekeeper and his wife and family in one cottage and Joseph Forsyth a 50yrs old widowed farm manager in another along with his son, daughter and 2 grandchildren.

By 1891 Broom is occupied by John Sutherland a gamekeeper, his wife Helen and 2 young daughters.
They have moved to Damhead Cottages in Sorn by 1901.
