Census
1841 Margaret McGaan 65, David Guthrie 50, carter, James Guthrie 45, agricultural labourer Jane Guthrie 40, Thomas McConnell 15, agricultural labourer, Jane McConnell 10, Jennet McConnell 9, and Mary McConnell 8.

1851 Reedston. William McCosh 41, is farming 71 acres and employing 1 agricultural labourer. His wife Marion 28, and two sons James 6, and Robert 3, and two servants Mary Frew 17, house servant, and Robert McLean 17 a farm labourer also are living at Reidston.

1861 and the Lindsay family have moved in to Reidston.  Thomas 30 is farming 70 acres and employing 1 man and 1 boy.  His wife Ann is 30 and childre Thomas 9, William 5, and James 2.  Thomas Lindsay 18 is their agricultural labourer and Agnes Cameron 13 is their domestic.
1871 Thomas 42 has increased the farm acreage to 110 arable and employs two labourers. Ann is 43, Thomas 19, William 15, James 11 and John 8 and Robert 6, and Agnes 1 now make up the family.  Nicholas Hodge 18 (f) is their domestic.
1881 census shows Thomas Lindsay 57 and Annie Lindsay 52 farming 116 acres arable employing 2 men and 1 woman. Also at Reidston are sons William 25, James 21, Robert 16, and daughter Agnes 11.  They have a domestic servant Finlayson Watt, a general domestic.
1891 At home are Thomas 62, Annie 62, William 34, and Agnes 21.  Marion Jardine 15 is their domestic.

1901 and Philip Arthur Salomons 25 and wife Margaret 29 have taken over.  They have a son, Joseph Arthur aged 1, and two servants, Ellen Drain 20 a byre woman and oatworker (outworker?), and Mary McLaughlin 14, a nurse domestic.

The valuation rolls show a link between Reidston and Kayshill

1905 when prop. William Campbell and tenant Robert Purdie.  
1915 prop. Lord Skerrington, tenant Robert Purdie.  
1925and 1935 same prop., tenant John Paterson.  1940 no result.

*William Campbell adopted the name Lord Skerrington after his Cumnock  estate, which at the time [1908] comprised of five farms - Bowes, Craigens, Horsecleugh, Netherthird and Skerrington. In Ochiltree parish he owned Drumjoan, Drumsmudden, Reidston and Whitehill. Lord Skerrington was to be the first Roman Catholic appointed as a judge in Scotland resulting in some Protestant opposition.
