1841 The Anderson family, John 50, farmer, with Janet 50, Grace 15, David 15, Margaret 15, Catherine 13, Agnes 11, James 9, Ann 20, James 15.  Also Jannet McKnight 15, Jane Lennox 20 and John Forsyth 15.

1851 Samuel Goodwood 54 farmer of 65 acres with 2 labourers.  Wife Agnes S 46, and servant Peter Wilson 16.
Also John Beattie 23 from England, farm labourer, and wife Margaret 27.

1861 Andrew Rankin MD 61 and wife Grace 44, and son George J 23. With them are nurse Janet Davidson 54 and servants Jane McMichael 25, cook, Jane Horrie 20 and David Scott 16.
There is also a Lochside Cottage with the Rorison family, John 65, a shepherd with wife Margaret 50, daughter Jean 28 and grand daughter Agnes Simpson under 1 with William Simpson 30.

1871 The Purdie family. William 49 a farm servant with wife Janet 43, and children William 14, David 13, Isabel 11, Elspeth 9, Janet 7, Mary 6, John 4, Jean 2 and baby Robert.

1881 Hugh McCrie 69, gamekeeper with servant Janet Findlay 20.
Also Thomas White 45, coachman with wife Catherine 43 and sons David 10, Alexander 8, and Arthur 4. 
Lochside House, John Findlay Arthur 74, Army Indian Medical Depart., with servants Grace Neilson 45, and Jessie Swift 29.

1891 William McLure 41, gamekeeper and wife Euphemia 33. Children are William 12, John 10, Mary 8, Jane 6, Adam 4, David 3, and Matthew 1.  Janet Jackson  14 is their nurse.

1901 Joseph Tweddle 28, gamekeeper and wife Eliza 25.  Margaret Boyd 24 is the cook domestic.
 Also John Houston 53, gardener domestic with wife Annie 50. Two sons John 17, and George 13 are coal hewers. Daughter Janet 11, and son Haddow 5 (a Hastings family name), grandsons Samuel 2, and James Lorimer 1, and boarder Janet Whyte, 10. George Houston emigrated to America.

1855 tenant Dr Andrew Rankine.  
1865 prop Marquis of Bute, tenant Dr Andrew Rankine.  
1875 prop Marquis of Bute and multiple tenants - it appears that individual fields were let rather than an integrated farm.  
1920 multiple proprietors so it would appear that the Bute estate sold off these parcels of land tht had been previously let.
