1861 John Pearson 55 and Elizabeth 53 his wife farming 64 acres .  They have sons John 22, James 12, and Mary Strathern 16, domestic.
1871 John Pearson 65 and Elizabeth his wife farming 82 acres arable.  They have sons John 32, James 22, Elizabeth Murdoch general domestic and George Hillhouse 11, visiting.
1881 census shows John Pearson 75 and wife Elizabeth 73 farming 80 acres employing 1 girl.  Living with them are John Pearson son, 42, James McKenzie, nephew 13, and Mary Hay 22 is their general servant.
