Watston, Old Cumnock

Horse Tax 1797-98  John Baird  5 horses ( 3  taxed ). Spelled Watson.
Location near Borland
Also referred to as Watston of Borland ( births of Robert Baird 1801 and Thomas James Baird 1803, OPR)


There is also a Watston on Joan Blaeu atlas of 1654 north of Pennyfadzeoch (=Low Watson)  and one in Ochiltree

Martha Dykes married  Andrew Stevenson ( 1860-1950) of  Changue , and they  eventually  settled at  Bonerbo, Anstruther ,Fife ( by way  of  Strathaven and Dunbartonshire) where  the  Stevensons  still  farm.
