Templandshaw incorporated the lands of Roundshaw, Longshaw, and Larishaw shown in this for sale notice of 1818. Shaw is an old word for wood, and presumably Larishaw may have been a woodland with fox lairs?

The 1851 census for Templandshaw shows Ann Harvie 70 (McKerrow) widow of John Harvie who died in 1837, farmer of 100 acres employing 1 woman, daughter Jane 49, grandson John Harvie 21 who is employed on the farm and John Lennox 17 grandson. Ann died in 1857.
The 1861 census for Templandshaw shows Gilbert Harvey 27 farming 100 acres with his sister Agnes 22 who is a dairymaid, farmer's daughters Mary Harvie and Margaret Harvie 20 who are visiting, and Agnes Park 1 & Violet Lees 12 who are also visiting.
The 1871 census shows unmarried Gilbert 35 farming 100 acres of which 50 are arable assisted by his sister Margaret Harvey 38 who is housekeeper and 1 female general servant.
The 1881 census for Templandshaw Farm shows William Harvey s 76yr old widower (Fa:John Harvey Mo: Ann McKerrow) farming 120 acres of which 40 are arable employing 1 man and 1 girl. He is assisted by his unmarried sister Mary Harvey 52 who is a dairymaid, 1 ploughman and 1 female general servant.
The 1891 census shows Templandshaw being occupied by Margaret Harvey 57 who is unmarried and is a housekeeper, her unmarried sister Mary 52 who is a dairymaid, 1 ploughman and 1 female general servant.
The 1901 census shows Templandshaw being farmed by John Harvey 70, his wife Jane 60 (Morton), son John 21 and 1 female farm servant.
