1851 George Paterson 30 farmer of 181 acres employing 3 labourers. Servants Mary Morton 29, dairymaid, Jane Syme 17, John Thom 18, and William Girvan 13.
1861 George Patterson 40 farmer of 190 acres . Wife Agnes 32 and children William 6, Agnes M 3 and Janet 1. Servants Agnes Lenn Patterson 21, Jean Turner 18, dairymaid, Alexander Kennedy 21, ploughman, George Templeton 18, ploughman and James Turner 15.

1871  Hugh Brown 41 Farmer Of 237 Acres Arable Employing 4 Lab & 2 Boys. Wife Ann 43, and children Jessie 12, Mary Kerr 10(married William Hettrick, Mill Affleck), Isabella Boyd 10, John 8 (farmed at Low Garleffan), Agnes 6, and Jean McCallum 4.  Ann Smith 19 is a general servant, Mary Graham 18, dairymaid, Thomas G Cairns 20 is boarding and studying farming, John Cain 19 and Andrew Crossan 15 are farm servants.
1881 Hugh Brown 59 and his wife Ann are farming 1400 acres 400 arable employing 4 men and 3 women.
Also in the household are Jessie 22, Mary 20, Agnes 16, Alexander Murdoch 9, boarder and William Jolley 36 farm servant. Hugh Brown died 1890 and widow Ann took over
1891 census Ann Brown 60 farmer 3 daughters and 2 servants
1901 Jeanie Brown 32, daughter, dairymaid, Richard Brown grandson 13, and servants Mary McMurdo 18, Archibald Gall 19, Peter Brackney 40, and William Miller, 12, byreboy. I am not sure that these relationships can be correct, as there is no record of Ann being head of the household here, but she appears as a visitor at Mill Affleck.  Richard could well be the son of John Brown, at Low Garleffan.
