The 1841 census shows James Richmond 40 farming in Hall with his wife Hannah 33, 8 children age 13yrs and under and a Male manservant.
The 1851 census shows James Tennant 46 and his wife Jean 44 farming 119 acres employing 1 labourer, son John 16, dtr Mary 14, dtr Christina 10, nephew Thomas Todd 19 an agricultural labourer, 1 female house servant and William Neil a house carpenter.
The 1861 census shows Robert Welsh 56 and his wife Mary (Kennedy) 48 farming 250 acres, son George 28, son James 25, dtr Mary 17, dtr Isabella 13, son Alexander 9, son Robert 4, 2 female domestic servants and 1 male cow herd.
The 1871 census shows Mary Welsh 58 now a widow farming in Hall with her son Robert 14, dtr Isabella 23, 1 dairymaid, 1 female general domestic, 1 male cow herd, 1 ploughman and 1 Male agricultural labourer.
1881 census shows George Welsh 48, wife Agnes (Weir) 37 and three children  Grace 9, Mary 7 and Robert 5. There are no details of average but they employ a dairymaid Maria Gaffney 21, five general servants Elizabeth McQuillan 21, Jane howat 18, George Henderson 26,  James Adie 16, and a 14 year old shepherd Robert McCutcheon.
The 1891 census shows George Welsh and his wife Agnes 47 farming Hall along with dtr Grace 19, dtr Mary 17, son Robert 15, daughter Lizzie 1, 2 female general domestics and 2 Male farm servants.
The 1901 census shows Agnes Welsh 57 now a widow farming Hall of Auchencross with her son Robert 25. Also living there is her daughter Mary Napier 26 a dairymaid and her husband John Napier 25 a farm servant, their children Agnes 5, Lizzie 3 and George 11 months, 1 ploughman, 1 Male farm servant and 2 female general domestics.
