Inventory of Margaret Murray or Murdoch at Ayr 19/6/1833
Extract: I Margaret Murray or Murdoch relict of the late David Murdoch farmer in Dalsilloch Parish of Auchinleck and lately residing in Ayr appoint Robert Murdoch farmer of Dalsilloch to be my sole executor and administrator with full power......It goes on to say that it will be divided into 8 parts or shares of which Robert will be entitled to two shares and each of his brothers and sisters and their heirs respectively one part or one share each.

David Murdoch died at Dalsalloch 29th April 1829. His first wife was Elizabeth Campbell and his second wife was Margaret Murray.

1881 census Alexander Findlay 74 and his wife Janet 78 are farming 130 acres. They employ 1 man and 1 boy and 1 girl.  Living with them are James and Janet Findlay, grandchildren. Updated.

Alexander Findlay died in 1891 and son Robert is in charge

Owned by Sir James Boswell, then by Lady Boswell.
Farmed by Alexander Finlay from 1855 to 1885, then by Robert Finlay from 1895. By 1915 the rows have arrived and there is no mention of a farm. .
