Update
To make things more confusing there were 2 Roadingheads with Dickstons nearbly. 2 were in the Parish of Mauchline, both Boswell farms not far from Auchinleck House. The other 2 were off the Rigg Road nearer Lugar. The McKerrow farms were the latter. Roadinghead and Dickston were paired in later years.

The 1881 census for RODINHEAD shows David McKerrow 88 , retired farmer, as head of the household. His son David Mckerrow 38, along with his brother and sister Jane (Jeanie?) 39 and Francis 36 are farming 198 acres, 188 arable employing 2 girls and 1 man.

1855 shows Lady Boswell as proprietor and David McKerrow as tenant. No further entries until 1935 which shows Mrs Jeanie McKerrow as proprietor and George McKerrow as tenant.
1761 OPR Baptism on 22 Nov. Hugh Gould and Jannet Thomson in Roadinhead of Templand had a child baptised called Andrew.

The 1851 census for Radinhead shows David McKerrow 58 farmer of 126 acres employing 2 labourers with his wife Margaret 48, daughters Mary 16, Grace 14 and Jean 9, sons David 7, Charles 3 and Francis 5, 2 male farm labourers, 1 hard boy, 1 female house servant and John Wilson a carter who is lodging with them.
The 1861 census shows David McKerrow 68 farming 190 acres at Rodinhead employing 1 man, 1 woman and 1 boy. He is assisted by his wife Margaret 59, daughter Grace 24 who is a dairymaid, daughter Jane 19 who is an assistant, sons David 18 & Francis 16 who are farm servants, son Charles 13, 1 ploughman, 1 female domestic and William Beggs 11yrs.
The 1871 census for Rodenhead shows David McKerrow, now a widower of 78, now farming 192 acres of which 172 are arable with son David 28, daughter Jane 29, son Francis 26, son Charles 23 who is a draper, niece Grace Dickie 27, grandsons James & David Paterson and 2 female domestic servants.

The 1891 census shows Roadinghead now being farmed by son David McKerrow 48 assisted by his sister Jane 49. They are being visited by the Dickie children Jane S. 13, Susan 9 and Daniel 8. Also recorded as working on the farm are 2 male domestic farm servants, nephew Alexander Wilson 15 who is a shepherd, 1 female general servant and 1 dairymaid.
The 1901 census shows Roadinghead still being farmed by David McKerrow 58 and single, sister Jane 59 and also single as housekeeper, 1 ploughman, 1 male agricultural labourer and 1 dairymaid.
