1881 census shows James Watson 43 and his wife Mary 40 farming 45 acres arable. They have five children, John and Mary both 12, James 8, Agnes and Janet both 3 (two sets of twins!). Mary Anton, mother in law and farmer's widow 81 is also in the household. They came from Slacks farm in Darvel and went on to Greenside, Cumnock from 1888 ad below he was maybe farming both.
