Jacob Murray and his sister Annie , who were born at Little Muir , Cumnock were sent as youngsters to live with their unmarried Uncle John Murray at Carston. In 1919 Jacob got a lease of Dalgig, New Cumnock which was a very large sheep farm, and the Murrays left Carston after hundreds of years. Jacob dispersed his Ayrshire herd in a record breaking sale at Dalgig in the mid 1920s. |
