1851 Back o' hill George Muir 53, farmer of 60 acres employing two labourers. Wife Christina (Murray) 52, Margaret 22, William 21, Elizabeth 19, James 16, and Christina 14.  No servants recorded
1861 George 63 and Christina farming 65 acres.  family are William 31, Margaret 32, Christina 24 and William 10. Servant is Robert Spence 16. George died in 1867
1871 Bcckhill Christina is a widow, 72 farming 77 acres, 65 arable employing 1 labourer and a boy. family are Margaret 42, Christina 34, and William 41 is the farm manager.  John Anderson 14 is a farm servant.  Christina died in 1880
1881 Son William Muir 51 and his two sisters Margaret 52 and Christina 44 are farming 85 acres 70 arable employing 1 man and 1 woman.  Samuel Murray 17 is live in farm servant.
