The 1861 census shows shepherd John Ferguson now age 69 still living there with his wife Janet 71, son David 49 who is also a shepherd, son-in-law James McMillan 28, daughter Elizabeth 31 (James's wife), grandsons John McCulloch 13 and Thomas McMillan 1. Visiting them is Margaret Campbell a 73yr old vagrant who was born in Ireland.
By 1871 Glenlee is now occupied by another shepherd, 36yr old Andrew Murray, his wife Susanna 37 and their children William 10, David 8, Janet 6, Robert4, Susanna 4, Nicholas (daughter) 2 and Elizabeth 8 months.
In 1881 61 yr old shepherd Archibald Robertson is living there with his wife Janet 59 and Violet their daughter who is 17.
The 1891 census shows shepherd Thomas McMillan 24 now occupying the cottage along with his wife Martha 26 and daughter Martha 11 months.
By 1901 Jane Ferguson 57 is living there with her son John who is 25 and a shepherd.
