Glenhead, Auchinleck



 Location - Barony Road. Note proximity to Hapland, and Glenside also occupied by Mrs Smith in Scotlands Places  1855/57.

 T.P. [Glenhead] - A toll bar but no gate on Barony Road adjoining Glenhead.

 The 1851 census shows Mary Smith 73 a tollkeeper, her daughter Agness 40 a hand sewer and her son  Andrew 28 a master joiner.

 The 1861 census shows Mary age 80 still living there along with her daughter Agness 48 a muslin sewer.

 The 1871/1881/1891 censuses show Agness living alone as the tollkeeper.

 The 1901 census is for Glenhead Cottage showing James Kilpatrick a railway porter and his family living   there and  another 1901 census shows William Eadie a pit drawer and his family living at Glenhead Cottage.
