In the 1770s to 1810s it was the McLatchie family. They left for Canada around 1820
1841 census shows James Weir 30 ag lab at Sykeside, wife Elizabeth (Lapraik) and 4 children. The previous entry is an unoccupied property at Sykeside and the following entry is his brother Robert Weir at Netherton (freecen.org.uk) These Weir brothers are grandsons of James Weir above who died in 1810.
