The censuses seem to show that the houses at High Dalblair were occupied by farm workers.
The 1871 census shows that John Brown a 31yrs old shepherd lived at High Dalblair with his wife Mary, 2 sons ages 5yrs and under and 1 female servant.
The 1881 census shows 37yr old gamekeeper George Templeton occupying Low Dalblair along with his wife Jane 38 and their 4 children age 9yrs and under. They are being visited by tailor Thomas Anderson.
Another 1881 census shows Low Dalblair being occupied by John Forsyth a 30yr old shepherd, his wife Catherine, their 2 young children and 2 female general servants.
The 1891 census shows Samuel Armstrong a 72yr old shepherd, his wife Janet 67, their daughter Annie 31 and their son Samuel 24 who is also a shepherd.
