Margaret & Jean twin children to Alexander Mitchell of Hallglenmure and Jean Gibb his spouse were born Oct 19th and baptised Oct 26th 1775


The 1851 census shows Janet Young (married name McCrone) a 37yr old farmer’s widow farming High Glenmuir,  her 2 young children James McCron 3 and John McCron 1, Margaret Dun 45 servant, Margaret Young 14 servant and 1 shepherd.
The 1861 census shows Janet Y McCrone 46 farming 20 acres employing 1 man. Also living there is her daughter Margaret 19, daughter Jane 17, daughter Janet 15, son James 13 (all servants), daughter Mary 6 and 1 shepherd.
The 1871 census shows Janet McCrone 57 bower living at High Glenmuir with her son James 23 shepherd, daughter Jane 21 dairymaid, daughter Mary 16 and 1 female domestic.

1881 census shows John Mair 30 farming 750 acres 190 arable employing 1 man 1 girl 1 boy and 1 woman. His mother Jane Mair (Wallace) 72 is housekeeper. (She died there in 1883) Also living in are Jane Young 23 dairymaid, Janet Armstrong 14 domestic, and William Logan 17 farm servant.
The 1891 census shows John Mair 41 farming with wife Margaret (Montgomerie - Laigh Tarbeg), nephew James Symington 24 who is a farm servant, 1 shepherd, 1 dairymaid and 1 female general domestic.

The 1901 census shows Gavin Struthers 27 now farming High Glenmuir along with his wife Isabella (Morrison Craig) 24, son Robert 1, 1 male female servant and 1 female general servant. Gavin was still there in 1907 - birth of daughter Agnes, but not by 1909
